In recent months, wildfires have affected many communities across California. In light of these events and community concerns, the General Plan Update team has shifted the project schedule to prioritize the Safety Element update. The project team will work first on the Safety Element, beginning with a policy framework document that outlines Monte Sereno’s safety policy direction (specifically concerning wildfire mitigation and evacuation). It proposes Goals, Policies, and Programs based on the 2008 General Plan and suggests actions for implementation in the General Plan Update.
